The Department of Architecture and Planning always implements the SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) management system to ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment for all academicians and visitors in the Department of Architecture and Planning area.
The SHE management system is under the coordination of the Office of Security, Safety, Emergency and Environment (Kantor Keamanan, Keselamatan Kerja, Kedaruratan dan Lingkungan or K5L) of Universitas Gadjah Mada. Here are some K5L hotlines that can be contacted under emergency conditions.

In general, safety guidelines in the Universitas Gadjah Mada environment can be seen in the following video.
To help any emergency situations that may occur, here is a list of safety equipment available in the DTAP area/building.
- Evacuation Route & Assembly Point: A designated route/path to exit the building during an emergency and a safe location to assemble after evacuation.
- Fire Extinguisher: A portable fire extinguisher used to extinguish small fires before they spread.
- Fire Alarm: A device to detect signs of fire and provide a warning via siren to people in the building/area of the fire.
- Fire Hydrant & Hose: A fire extinguishing system consisting of a hydrant and hose, used by firefighters to access water and extinguish larger fires.
In the event of an emergency situation such as fire, earthquake, or other dangerous conditions, please follow the evacuation procedures below and immediately exit the DTAP area/building by following the evacuation route.
EVACUATION PROCEDURE
In case of emergency and instructed to evacuate, everyone has to follow the following evacuation procedure:
- Do not panic, and stay calm.
- Leave the building immediately through the nearest emergency exit by following the designated evacuation route.
- Assist to evacuate others only if it is safe to do so.
- Take your confidential and valuable personal belongings which are possible to be carried. Do not return to the building to collect your belongings.
- Proceed to the main assembly point once you get out of the building.
- Please remain at the assembly point until the all-clear given.
The following evacuation routes are located at several points/rooms in the DTAP building. Academics and visitors are expected to always pay attention to and understand the existing evacuation routes to prepare themselves in emergency situations.
