On Thursday (7/9) the UGM Urban and Regional Planning (URP) study program received a field study visit from the URP study program, University of Jember, East Java. The visit carried the theme “Development of Environment-Problem Based Tourism Destinations” which aims to study tourism development planning in Yogyakarta. Before visiting UGM, they also visited the Yogyakarta Tourism Office.
Since 11:00 a.m., the group of students and lecturers from Jember University had filled the K3 DTAP room where the visit took place. The group was then welcomed directly by Ir. Deva Fosterharoldas Swasto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM. representing the PWK study program. The event continued with exposure and description of the PWK study program, such as history, latest curriculum, accreditation, academic activities, and student achievements. Friends from the University of Jember seemed enthusiastic to hear the presentation while asking various questions which were immediately explained by Mr. Deva.
The event was then closed by handing over a commemorative plaque given by the University of Jember. The whole event then ended with a group photo in front of DTAP’s red bricks and the University of Jember had the opportunity to tour the DTAP campus. Thus ended the visit from the PWK studio program, University of Jember. Hopefully the knowledge gained can be useful for the progress of the PWK program together and it is hoped that cooperation and good relations will continue between PWK UGM and PWK University of Jember in the future.
