
ABOUT URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING UNDERGRADUATE STUDY PROGRAM
The Urban and Regional Planning Program (URP) is a field of study that studies spatial condition and plans it for future needs. The scope of study is from the scale of neighborhood, city to the scale of the region along with the elements in it, including physical and social elements. What was learned in URP such as planning of roads, buildings, and urban facilities that cannot be separated from its social elements.
The output that was generated from a planning process can be in the form of a masterplan and spatial planning documents. The document contains related spatial rules that are used as guidelines for the development of a region.

- Have passed the primary and secondary education
- Have passed the entrance test (see each year option at http://um.ugm.ac.id)
- Do not have disability(ies) of blindness, deaf, mute, and color blindness (exception for partial color blindness)

PROGRAM OUTLINE
Cities and regions as habitual space where human activities intermingled in several
layers formed a complex system. Faced with these complexities, there is a growing demand of professional planners who are able to give prescription for “urban and regional disorders” and improve the current state of cities and regions in order to create better space, better living. As an answer to these challenges, the undergraduate program in urban and regional planning aims to create graduates who are able to:
- develop and present planning ideas, and
- actively involved in a planning process within a team and exchange knowledge with other experts.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
URP alumni have opportunities to choose the field of work after the study period. The average waiting period for a graduate of URP undergraduate program to get his first job is 3-5 months after graduation. Based on alumni tracking data (2016), the alumni of the URP undergraduate program get jobs that are scattered in various places, like :
- Government Agencies
- Consultant Planners
- Property Developers, and
- Non-Government Organizations
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
URP undergraduate program can join the membership of the Indonesian Association of Urban and Regional Planners (IAP) with certain requirements.
