Neighborhood Planning and Design expertise explores issues of housing and settlement at the neighborhood scale. The Neighborhood Design and Planning Research Group not only pays attention to the physical problems of housing and settlements but also economic, social and cultural issues that exist within the context of the neighborhood.

This expertise group also tried to be involved in empirical analysis and policy debate in the area of regional development. The specific purpose of the studies is to connect insights across intellectual disciplines systematically and reasonably to understand the background of one area more developed than others.
