Yogyakarta, October 8, 2025 — Prof. Bakti Setiawan, a lecturer at the Department of Architecture and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, served as one of the speakers in the session “From Scientific Research to Societal Impact: Climate and Sustainable Development in Cities” at WINNER 2025. Prof. Bakti, also known as Prof. Bobi, joined the forum online from UGM, participating in an international discussion that brought together academics and practitioners from Indonesia and the Netherlands to explore the role of scientific research in supporting sustainable urban development and climate action.
Prof. Bobi’s involvement in WINNER 2025 highlights the contribution of Indonesian academics in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His participation aligns with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), as the forum facilitates international collaboration and knowledge exchange to help create environmentally friendly, inclusive, and sustainable cities.
WINNER 2025 was held in a hybrid format, combining online and on-site sessions at IPB University, with the aim of promoting the integration of scientific research into urban policy and practice. Prof. Bobi’s participation represents a significant academic contribution to the development of knowledge and the implementation of sustainable urban strategies in Indonesia.
