Joint Colloquium is an academic platform for post graduates candidate from the Higher Education Institutions to present and share their research findings. It is also a milieu for the candidates to create networking in research with peers from Indonesia and Malaysia. At the second time the Joint Colloquium held, the Department of Architecture and Planning, Universitas Gadjah Mada got a chance to host in collaboration with Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The event held on January 21-22, 2019. There are 3 theme of the discussion presented at Joint Colloquium: Environment Studies Built: Architecture and Urban Design, Urban and Regional Planning, and Public Policy and Development Planning.
On January 21, 2019, the event began at 8:30 with a speech from Dr. Eng. Ir. Sarwadi, M. Eng as Chairman of Department Architecture and Planning UGM and Prof. Ir. Nizam M.Sc. PhD as Dean of Faculty of Engineering UGM. After that, the seminar began with Prof. Jamalunlaili Abdullah (UiTM-Malaysia), Prof. Ir. Wiendu Nuryanti, M.Arch., Ph.D. (UGM-Indonesia), and Ir. Ikaputra, M.Eng, Ph.D. (UGM-Indonesia) as the speaker. At 9:40 a.m., the program continued with parallel sessions which had their respective topics to discussed together. The topics discussed are:
- Architecture Technology
- People Place Relationship,
- Culture, Tourism Planning, and Education in Built Environment,
- Heritage Architecture and Cultural Landscape,
- Real Estate and Property Management,
- Urban Planning and Design,
- Architecture Urban Design,
- Development Planning and Public Policy, and
- Urban and Regional Planning.
After interspersed with lunch, the parallel sessions continued with the same topic and ended at 3:00 p.m.
The second day, the event continued with a presentation and discussion of the results of the research of the participants moderated by Prof. Ir. Bakti Setiawan, MA. Also to presenting and discussing, the participants were also given debriefing about making research methods from Prof. Dr. Ismail Bin Said (UTM-Malaysia) and Prof. Jamalunlaili Abdullah (UiTM-Malaysia). Participants in the Doctoral Architecture and Planning Management program (Indonesia and Malaysia) also shared sessions in the form of short presentations from programs at their respective universities. These universities include Gadjah Mada University, University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Diponegoro University, Parahyangan Catholic University, and many more. Then the event closed with a group photo.
