At the beginning of 2023, DTAP students made another achievement through the Asia Young Designer Awards (AYDA) Indonesia Awards. The achievement was made by Salsabila Novitasari, a 2019 Bachelor of Architecture student. Salsabila with her work entitled “Re-Stack!” has won the Gold Winner in the Architecture category. In addition to Salsabila, Yoga Adhi Susila (2018) won the Silver Winner title through his work entitled “Sacred Garden”. Setia Aji Wardana (2019) and Ardana Dayu Suryono (2019) also received Honorary Mention awards at the annual event.
UGM Architecture study programme received another study visit on Thursday (26/1). This time, the field study came from Universitas Halu Uleo (UHO), Kendari. The visit with the theme “Green Smart Building & Culture” also aims to study the new building of the Faculty of Engineering, the SGLC building. The group of UHO students and lecturers were then received by Dr. Ahmad Nasikun, S.T., M.Sc. as the Manager of Student Affairs of the Faculty of Engineering and Nur Zahrotunnisaa Zagi, S.T., M.T. as a representative of Architecture.
On Wednesday (18/1) the UGM Architecture Study Program received a visit from the Architecture Study Program at Makassar State University (UNM). The study visit was received directly by Dr. Eng. Nedyomukti Imam Syafii, S.T., M.Sc., as secretary of the Architecture program.
UNM Architecture students, accompanied by two of their lecturers, have been present in the K1 DTAP room since 09.00. The event begins with a description of the program, the latest activities, and the achievements and accreditations that have been achieved. Then, the event continued with a question-and-answer session. Several UNM students and lecturers seemed enthusiastic about submitting various questions about UGM architecture. Approaching 11.30, the event session in room K1 will soon end. The event ended with the submission of a plaque from UNM Architecture to UGM Architecture.
Since its establishment in 1962, the Department of Architecture and Planning (DTAP) has now turned 60 years old. To commemorate the DTAP anniversary, a number of events were held, including the DTAP Sportsfest in August and the DTAP Anniversary Celebration in September.Until finally, the highlight of the 60th anniversary of the Department of Architecture and Planning was held on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
The peak event started in the morning at 06.30 with a healthy walk and group gymnastics. This activity is an internal event attended by lecturers, students, and employees, along with their families, and there are also student representatives. The event took place on a lively stage with an entertainment stage where lecturers and students joined in singing on stage. Then, there was a door prize draw that all participants had been waiting for the most. After various consolation prizes were distributed, it was time to draw the main prizes, which were 3 television units, 1 refrigerator unit, and 2 folding bicycle units. The morning event was declared over after the main prizes were distributed to the lucky winners.
On Tuesday (22/11), the Department of Architecture and Planning held a release ceremony for graduates of the Bachelor program in room K1. There were 9 students from the Bachelor of Architecture program and 21 students from the Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning program at the graduation this November.
The graduates accompanied by their parents or guardians seemed to have started attending the event since 13.00. The event was then opened by singing the Indonesia Raya song and delivering remarks from Ir. Deva Fosterharoldas Swasto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM. as Head of Department. The graduation ceremony was also attended by all levels of management, lecturers and staff of the Department of Architecture and Planning.
The release of the Graduates of the Bachelor program was again held on Thursday (25/8) by the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning. The release event this time felt more special because it was held offline and outdoors in the DTAP Innercourt area. There are as many as 69 students of the Bachelor of Architecture program and 21 students of the Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning program at the release of the August period this time.
Not only the graduates, but their parents/guardians also attended the graduation ceremony at the DTAP Innercourt. The entire management, lecturers, and staff of the Department and Study Program also participated in the Graduation Release. After the prayer together, remarks from Ir. Deva Fosterharoldas Swasto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM. as Head of the Department marked the start of the release ceremony.
In order to start the new semester of TA 2022/2023, the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning again held its inaugural lecture on Monday (15/08). The inaugural activities were packaged as a Public Lecture by presenting selected speakers. Although this activity is only required for Bachelor of Architecture students batch 2022, all students from various study programs and levels in the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning can take part in the inaugural lecture.
On this occasion, the speaker presented was Adi Purnomo, the architect and founder of Mamostudio. The event started at 09.00 in the K1 DTAP room. Not only new students, but students from various generations were also enthusiastic about participating in this inaugural lecture.
On Wednesday (10/08), the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning held an Infoday activity aimed for new students of the Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning programs for the 2022/2023 academic year. After last year’s Infoday was held online, this time Infoday can be held offline, to be precise in rooms K1-K2.
Infoday is a routine activity that is always held every year at DTAP. The purpose of this activity is to introduce DTAP to new students. These introductions cover various aspects such as introductions to lecturers, department and study program managers, education staff, extracurricular activities, student organizations, DTAP facilities and infrastructure, and the DTAP environment.
The release of Bachelor program graduates was again held on Wednesday (25/5) by the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning. The release event was held in a mixed manner, namely offline in the K1 room and online via Zoom. There are 6 students of the Bachelor of Architecture program and 7 students of the Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning program at the release of the May period this time.
The release of the graduates was attended by all levels of management, lecturers, and staff of the Department and Study Program. In addition, there are some parents/guardians who can attend to accompany graduates offline. The event was then opened with remarks from Ir. Deva Fosterharoldas Swasto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM. as Head of the Department.
Archilecture Series was held again by the Department of Architectural Engineering and Planning on Friday (27/5). The Archilecture Series this time is one of the pre-events of The 6th Biennale ICIAP 2022 which will be held at the end of the year.
The event is open to the public and conducted online via Zoom with the topic “Adaptive Landscape, Resilient City”. The main speaker at this event was Dissa Pidanti Raras, who is the Urban Designer & Landscape Designer of Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl. After receiving a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Architecture, Gadjah Mada University, Dissa continued her education at the Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design program at GSAPP, Columbia University. In addition, Dissa also has experience working on various landscaping, planning, and research projects in Jakarta, Singapore, New York, to Switzerland.
