It is also a milieu for the candidates to create networking in research with peers from Indonesia and Malaysia. At the second time the Joint Colloquium held, the Department of Architecture and Planning, Universitas Gadjah Mada got a chance to host in collaboration with Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The event held on January 21-22, 2019. There are 3 theme of the discussion presented at Joint Colloquium: Environment Studies Built: Architecture and Urban Design, Urban and Regional Planning, and Public Policy and Development Planning.

At the end of 2018, Architecture and Planning Department held a final graduation event. Precisely on November 21, 2018, 13 students from the Architecture Study Program and 7 students from the Urban and Regional Planning Study Program were successfully graduated. Based on the results of Architecture and Planning Department that held meeting previously with the Bachelor Judiciary program and a review of the requirements that must be fulfilled, 20 of these students were declared “Graduated Bachelor Degree”.
KKA (Kuliah Kerja Arsitektur) 2018 is excursion activity from Architecture Students. KKA 2018activity is held in the period from July to October 2018 divided into three small groups according to the focus of different countries namely Bali, Singapore, and Bangkok. The theme of this 2018 KKA is Tourism Space which has four sub-themes, namely Shopping Tourism, Tourism Culture, Eco Tourism, and Urban Tourism. The theme of Tourism Space was chosen with the consideration that the focus of the government at the present time is being intensely promoting the tourism sector, because it is known that tourism itself is the fastest growing sector. Another consideration is that Indonesia has so much tourism potential that needs to be developed with a variety of problems that need to be addressed and the most appropriate solutions are sought. Architecture in this case plays a role in the formation of space and fostered areas that can be a great marketing tool in the tourism industry.
In order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Master Program in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) and 15th anniversary of the Bachelor Degree of Urban and Regional Planning (URP), Architecture and Planning Department organized a series of events for three days starting from September 20-22, 2018. This series of events involving the entire staff of lustrum, a student, to the alumni of the MURP and URP
On September 20, 2018, a National Seminar was held carrying the theme “Regional Planning in National Development: Reflection and Future”. This seminar at once to celebrate 40 years the establishment of Pusat Studi Perencanaan Pembangunan Regional (PSPPR). PSPPR is one of the centers study at Gadjah Mada University dating from 1978. PSPPR focuses on the development of science and technology in the fields of spatial planning and territorial development management through a variety of activities within the scope of regional and nationwide. In 1993, PSPPR initiate the establishment a postgraduate Master in Urban and Regional Planning (MURP), and Bachelor Degree of Urban and Regional Planning (URP) in 2003. Thus, the close links between the MURP alumni, URP alumni, and PSPPR alumni remain intertwined with the commitment to solve the problems of development in the various regions.

Currently, URP-SP is conducting a self study report for BAN-PT accreditation. We would like to ask your time to fill this tracer study in order to update our alumni database.
This tracer study is an instrument to keep URP-SP updated on the track record of the alumni, such as the types of their jobs, the length of their waiting time for getting the first job, and the amount of their first salary. In addition, it is also an instrument to gather information from the alumni about the relevance of the URP-SP curriculum for their current jobs and their suggestions to improve it. This tracer study is significant to ensure the URP curriculum is on the right track to support alumni’s career. It is normally followed-up by a regular evaluation on the current curriculum.
Tuesday, August 28, 2018, the Department of Architecture and Planning has been busy with preparations for the graduation ceremony since the morning. A total of 106 students successfully graduated with 53 students from each study program. Based on the Judiciary Decree, the Architectural Engineering Study Program notes that 7 students were graduated in May, 10 students were declared graduated in June, and 36 students were graduated in July. While for the Urban and Regional Planning Study Program, as many as 6 students were graduated in May, 8 students passed in June, and 39 students in July.
BAN-PT or Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi is an institution that has a vision to be a dignified, credible, and accountable institution and to be strategic and international in supporting the establishment of a superior and characterized higher education system (BAN-PT, 2016). The BAN-PT accreditation process is carried out through a process, namely uploading files and visits by BAN-PT assessors. BAN-PT assessors are experts in the field of science or practice representing BAN-PT in the accreditation study program.
The Department of Architecture and Planning again held a public lecture that was open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, both those from the Urban and Regional Planning Study Program and the Architectural Engineering Study Program. The public lecture this time carries the theme “Contemporary Issues of Cities in Europe” with the speaker Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Wibisono, MUP., M.Sc who is a lecturer from the Department of Architecture and Planning Engineering himself.
This public lecture discusses the ways of big cities in Europe who are members of the European Union in dealing with the latest urban issues, such as urban pollution, the tendency of the population to live in urban areas, and the positive and negative impacts resulting from migration to urban areas.
