In the Department of Architecture and Planning Engineering, there are 5 laboratories in UGM, namely:
Architectural Design Laboratory
Is a container for the development of science and skills related to architectural and regional design. The study results are useful material for students as learning material based on real problems in lectures and Design Studio.
Laboratory of History and Architecture Development
Is a forum for research activities on the history and background of building architecture philosophy, with a perspective towards the future. Utilizing various traditional artifacts and environments that exist in Java and outside Java as study material. This laboratory seeks to gain more basic knowledge about architecture, especially Indonesian architecture. Some research results include the proposed conservation of buildings and areas that have been produced and utilized by the community.
Building Technology Laboratory
Is a container of research activities on structure and construction as well as building physics in an architectural approach. The study involved a lot of students and the results were always renewable learning material.
Housing and Settlement Laboratory
Is a container of research and planning activities on housing. In the field which is a meeting between social, cultural, economic and physical disciplines that are met in architectural techniques, a lot of research is conducted involving students.
City and Regional Planning Laboratory
Is a forum for groups of teachers who have specialization in the field of Urban and Regional Planning. In this laboratory developed quantitative and qualitative methodologies for the analysis of urban and regional developments and development policies. Many studies are carried out that can be used by students to add practical experience in the field of City Planning.
