In the mid-terms of the first semester, academic year 2025/2026, students from the Professional Architect Program (PPAr) presented their studio progress to the lecturers and external architects. In this studio, PPAr UGM invites three external architects to act as a direct supervisor for the Independent Praxis Studio course. The architects invited are: Ar. Wahyu Wulandari, ST, M.B.A., IAI., AA; Ar. Arief Isrefdiyanto, ST, M.AUD, IAI; and Ar. Arwan Suryanto, ST. IAI.

Presentations delivered by the students were held in Room K3 and the PPAr Room with a cross-presentation method; continued by a discussion session by the students and their respective group’s advisors and the external architects. Independent Praxis Studio is a design studio course in PPAr Program that is held in the first semester. An emotional atmosphere filled the Tedjo Suminto Hall, Department of Architecture and Planning (DTAP), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. A total of 13 students from the Regional and City Planning (PWK) Study Program and 14 students from the Architecture Study Program were officially released as graduating students who would take part in the official graduation ceremony the following day, November 26, 2025. The two-hour event, which began at 1:00 PM, was attended by the students along with their parents and families as a form of support for their academic achievements. read more

A presentation on the Cosmological Axis of Yogyakarta delivered by Dr. Eng. Ir. Laretna Trisnantari Adhisakti, M.Arch., or Bu Sita, before researchers of the Taiwan Heritage Society on 29 October 2025 introduced a fresh perspective to the global discourse on heritage city management. Representing the UGM–UNESCO Chair, she not only explained Yogyakarta’s achievement as a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also demonstrated how traditional spatial philosophy can inspire modern approaches to sustainability. read more

Monday, August 25, 2025, marked the Inauguration of the Architect Profession for the August 2025 Period. The ceremony was held at Pendapa Tedjo Suminto and attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, faculty members of the Architecture Program, invited guests including representatives from IAI and external architectural partners, and, of course, the main highlight of the event: the students being inaugurated.

The event began with the singing of Indonesia Raya and the Hymn of Gadjah Mada, followed by opening remarks from the Dean of FT UGM, Prof. Ir. Selo, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., and a speech by the Chairman of IAI, Ar. Georgius Budi Yulianto, S.T., M.T., IAI, AA. The ceremony then continued with the signing of a cooperation charter by the Dean of FT UGM, Prof. Ir. Selo, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., representing DTAP UGM, alongside Ar. Localinsa is a local tourism organization based in Seoul, focusing on community-based tourism development and the preservation of neighborhood identity. The connection between Localinsa and the 2025 UGM KKA students was facilitated by a UGM Architecture lecturer, whose collaboration with Localinsa began during her doctoral studies in Seoul.
