In the previous Professional Studio II, PPAr students of academic year 2024/2025 have finished their studio projects and submitted their works for C40: Reinventing Cities (Students) international competition. The design process, enriched by direct guidance and several reviews by external architects have resulted in an achievement worth to be celebrated. The PPAr students have managed to gain the title of both second champion and third champion at C40: Reinventing Cities under the category of Marconi District Student Housing.

The second champion is awarded to ‘Catur Tunggal’ team that consisted of Immanuel Satya Dharma, William Wijaya, Jaap Charlos Wakur, and Muhammad Zaki Fauzan under supervision by architect Rezza Rahdian, S.T. and the third champion is awarded to ‘Saka Nusantara’ team that consisted of Muhammad Al Farisy, Nabiha Abrar, Kayzha Shafira Ramadhani, and Octaviani Widya Pradipta under the supervision by Widi Cahya Yudhanta, S.T., M.Sc. The respective works that are presented are ‘Circular Urban Loop’ by Catur Tunggal and ‘Reconnecting Places. Restoring Spaces” by Saka Nusantara.

C40: Reinventing Cities is a competition held by C40, an organization in the field of urban and climate change, in order to provide a platform for students and universities to collaborate with global cities in the world and imagine sustainable and inclusive solutions for the urban future. Participation in C40: Reinventing Cities competition was included as the main agenda for the implementation of Professional Studio II during the previous second semester of PPAr academic year 2024/2025 where the associated students have finished their inauguration back in August.

The whole staff of DTAP UGM hereby send congratulations to the students that have managed to claim their positions as champions in C40: Reinventing Cities competition this year. May this achievement sow a good impact for the journey the students tread in becoming an architect.

This event goes hand in hand with SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 13: Climate Action.

The students crowned champions at the competition during their architect inauguration day back in August 2025
