Kuliah ini mengundang Meirina Ayumi Malamassam, Ph.D, seorang peneliti di Pusat Riset Kependudukan, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN).

Kuliah tamu dibuka oleh Sri Tuntung Pandangwati, ST., MUP. selaku dosen pengampu mata kuliah Teori Kependudukan dan dilanjutkan dengan pemaparan materi oleh narasumber. read more

Sleman, May 8, 2025 — Second-semester students of the Architecture Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), class of 2024, participated in a field trip as part of the Building Systems and Construction (SBK) course. The visit took place at the construction site of a new building for the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) UGM. This activity serves as an integral part of the learning process, aiming to introduce students to the technical and systematic realities of building construction. read more

Yogyakarta, May 15, 2025 – The Undergraduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning (PWK) at Universitas Gadjah Mada, in collaboration with the Master’s Program in Urban and Regional Planning, held another online guest lecture on Thursday, May 15, 2025, titled “Innovation Challenges in the Economic Development of Yogyakarta City.”

The lecture featured Agustin Wijayanti, S.Si., M.Ec.Dev., Head of the Planning Division of the Yogyakarta City Development Planning Agency (Bappeda). The session was moderated by Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Sani Roychansyah, S.T., M.Eng., lecturer of the Urban Economics course. The event was attended by students from both the undergraduate and master’s programs of Urban Economics, and was also open to the public. read more

Architectural Inspiration for SDG’s with Ar. Budi Sumaatmadja from Anggara Architeam

Friday, May 9, 2025, Architecture Program of Department of Architecture and Planning (DTAP) UGM welcomed Ar. Budi Sumaatmadja in its iconic ‘Red Brick’ Campus. Ar. Budi Sumaatmadja, the principal architect of Anggara Architeam, was invited to be a guest reviewer for PPAr (Professional Architect Program) UGM and to be a speaker for Archilecture with the title ‘Architectural Inspiration for SDG’s.’

The agenda was started with Ar. Budi Sumaatmadja reviewing the design progress of the students from PPAr UGM in the morning. Each group presented their proposed design for the C40: Reinventing Cities Competition. The review was conducted in Room K5 DTAP and were also attended by the two external architects who acted as the main supervisors for Professional Studio II: architect Rezza Rahdian, S.T. and architect Widi Cahya Yudhanta, S.T., M.Sc., and Dr. Eng. Alexander Rani Suryandono, S.T., M.Arch, the head of PPAr UGM. read more

Adaptability of Siheyuan (四合院) Spatial Arrangement in Chinese Houses in Kampung Ketandan, Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Faculty members of the Master’s Program in Architecture—Prof. Ir. Tarcicius Yoyok Wahyu Subroto, M.Eng., Ph.D., IPU. and Dr. Ir. Dwita Hadi Rahmi, M.A.—have published a scholarly article titled “Adaptability of Siheyuan (四合院) Spatial Arrangement in Chinese Houses in Kampung Ketandan, Yogyakarta, Indonesia” in the journal Built Heritage, Volume 9, Issue 1, 2025. The article was co-authored by Ristya Arinta Safitri, S.T., M.Sc., the first author, who is a doctoral student in the Architecture Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada and a faculty member of the Architecture Study Program at Universitas Trisakti. read more

Guest Lecture by Prof. Mark Hampton: Planning Island Tourism in Indonesia

A guest lecture organized by the Master’s Program in Architecture was held on May 5, 2025, featuring Prof. Dr. Mark Hampton (Emeritus Associate Professor, University of Kent, UK) as the speaker. He delivered a lecture titled “Planning Island Tourism in Indonesia: Opportunities and Challenges.” The session was attended in person by all students from the 2024 cohort and was also accessible to the public through an online platform. Diananta Pramitasari, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., as the Head of the Architecture Program, accompanied the event and served as moderator. read more

Field Visit of Architecture Studio 2: Observing Communal Space Phenomena in Kotagede

In April 2025, two graduate students from the 2024 cohort of the Master’s Program in Architecture conducted a field visit to Kotagede, Yogyakarta. This visit was part of the learning process for the Architecture Studio 2 course. During the visit, the students were accompanied by Prof. Ir. Tarcicius Yoyok Wahyu Subroto, M.Eng., Ph.D., IPU., the course supervisor, and Erwito Wibowo, a local writer and cultural figure from Kotagede.

Through this visit, students learned to observe and understand the various phenomena of communal spaces present in Kotagede. To capture these phenomena, the students explored and analyzed various aspects of Kotagede, including its history, architecture, cultural heritage, and the communal spatial values that have long been established in the area. read more

The guest lecture featured Hari Kusdaryanto, Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) of Citiasia Inc., who thoroughly discussed the opportunities and challenges surrounding the implementation of smart city concepts both now and in the future. The event was conducted online and was open to the general public. read more

Yogyakarta, April 23, 2025 – The Undergraduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning once again held a guest lecture on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, with the theme “Tracking Dugongs with Drones and AI.”

The guest lecture was conducted online to allow participation from both undergraduate and graduate students of Urban and Regional Planning at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), as well as the general public.

The lecture explored the role of technology in environmental monitoring and analysis. In this session, Bella Riskyta Arinda, S.T., a practitioner and GIS Specialist at YAPEKA, shared her experience in monitoring dugong populations using drone-based aerial imagery and artificial intelligence (AI). read more

Adi Utomo Hatmoko, M.Arch., a lecturer at the Department of Architecture at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and an architect with decades of professional experience, was one of the featured speakers at the ARCHMEP Meet & Talk held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Swiss-Belinn Ballroom, Cawang, East Jakarta. The event brought together professionals from architecture, healthcare, and engineering under the main theme, “Design Failures in Hospital Planning.” Pak Adi, as he is affectionately called, reaffirmed his commitment to sharing knowledge and practical insights, especially on designing better, more functional, and sustainability-oriented healthcare facilities. read more
