The Doctoral Architecture Student Association participated in the Kamisan Lesehan Ilmiah with the theme “Sharing Knowledge, Experiences, and Motivation Through Architectural Sketches.”
The topic was presented through the solo exhibition of Prof. Ir. Ikaputra, M. Eng., Ph.D., entitled “A Solo Exhibition: Biographical Sketches of Ikaputra”. Through this exhibition, visitors were invited to explore how sketches can represent more than just lines and drawings. The visit was not only an opportunity to appreciate artworks but also a valuable moment for doctoral architecture students to gain motivation and translate the inspiration into their own creative works.
The exhibition highlights that the creative process in architecture does not always begin with complex designs, but often starts from simple ideas expressed through sketches. Each displayed work reflects Prof. Ir. Ikaputra’s journey of thoughts, experiences, and sensitivity in understanding space, culture, and life. For doctoral architecture students, this experience became an important lesson on maintaining consistency in creative practice, developing critical thinking, and recognizing creativity as an integral part of architectural knowledge development and professional practice.
The event was held at GIK Universitas Gadjah Mada on June 6, 2026. This activity contributes to the advancement of quality education through knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and inspiration in the field of architecture, aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and supporting continuous innovation and knowledge development in architecture in line with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
