Matereality: Hotel Ventilation System by Daikin

The Architecture Program of Universitas Gadjah Mada held a Matereality Lecture on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Lecture Room 1 (K1). The session, which took place from 08:30 to 11:00 WIB, featured Daikin Air Conditioning as the guest speaker, presenting a special topic on ventilation systems in hotel buildings.

The lecture opened with remarks from Ms. Nur Zahrotunnisaa Zagi, who explained the course contract for Matereality as well as the point-based system, which serves as a prerequisite for enrolling in the Materiality in Architecture course. The event was attended by undergraduate architecture students and was mandatory for students of the Comprehensive Technology Studio, as the hotel design theme directly aligned with the studio project for the semester. read more

Yogyakarta, May 30, 2025 – The Undergraduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning at Universitas Gadjah Mada held a guest lecture on May 30, 2025, with the topic “Principles and Implementation of Resilient Cities in Contemporary Urban Development through a Global Perspective.” The lecture was conducted online and open to the general public.

This session invited Nini Purwajati, Programs Lead and Head of Asia Pacific Engagement at Resilient Cities Network, as the speaker to share her knowledge and experiences related to the concept of Resilient Cities. read more

Field Observation and FGD in Sanur: UGM Urban Design Students Collaborate for Low-Emission Coastal Area

From May 16 to 20, 2025, the sixth cohort of the Master of Urban Design program (2024 intake) conducted a field observation and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as part of the co-creation tactical placemaking phase in the Comprehensive Exploration Studio course. The project was themed Designing a Low-Emission Area in the Sanur Coastal Region, under the supervision of Dr. Ikaputra and Prof. Bambang Hari Wibisono. This academic activity was part of a collaborative initiative between the World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia and Pustral UGM (Center for Transportation and Logistics Studies), involving active participation from local communities and key stakeholders. read more

Commitment to Innovate towards Sustainable Technology, UGM sends Delegation to SEATUC Symposium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

On March 5–6, 2025, a delegation from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) participated in the 19th Southeast Asian Technical University Consortium (SEATUC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The event, themed “Innovation for Green and Sustainable Future,” showcased discussions on innovation and sustainability. Among the UGM delegation team was Dr. Ir. Tri Mulyani Sunarharum, S.T., a lecturer from the Department of Architecture and Planning. She was accompanied by four other UGM representatives: Ir. Ali Awaludin, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., IPU., ACPE; Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir.
