Yogyakarta, May 18, 2025 — Dr. Ir. Tri Mulyani Sunarharum, S.T., IPU, popularly known as Ibu Yani, Lecturer at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (PWK), Faculty of Engineering UGM, was one of the speakers at the National Seminar and Talkshow of Civil Engineering Days 2025, organized by Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta (UAJY) in collaboration with KAMAJAYA on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at UAJY Campus II Auditorium. The event carried the theme “Transformation of Infrastructure Development in Indonesia: Human Resources, Technology, and Sustainable Development” and brought together speakers from a wide range of related disciplines.

On Thursday, June 12, 2025, students of the 2024 Master of Urban Design Program, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Even Semester), held the Final Presentation of the Basic Urban Design Exploration Studio. The event featured an external reviewer from the Yogyakarta City Office of Land and Spatial Planning, Mr. Pamungkas, S.T., M.T., along with his team.
The Basic Exploration Studio is part of the learning process that emphasizes initial explorations of urban issues in depth. This semester, under the guidance of Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Sani Roychansyah, S.T., M.Eng. and Dr. Dyah Titisari Widyastuti, S.T., MUDD, the project theme was “West Jogja Rapid Growth Area”, with a specific focus on the area surrounding HOS Cokroaminoto Street, Yogyakarta. The students conducted spatial, social, and environmental analyses as the foundation for developing sustainable area development strategies.
On Tuesday, June 16, 2025, six Master’s students of Architecture (Class of 2024), Universitas Gadjah Mada, who are enrolled in the Studio 2 course within the Architectural Design Research Group (KBK Desain Arsitektur), conducted their final presentations showcasing the research they had undertaken throughout the semester.
Each student carried out a semester-long research project under the supervision of the KBK Architectural Design faculty members: Prof. Ir. Tarcicius Yoyok Wahyu Subroto, M.Eng., Ph.D., IPU; Diananta Pramitasari, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.; Syam Rachma Marcillia, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.; Mario Lodeweik Lionar, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; and Odilia Renaningtyas Manifesty, S.T., MA(UD)., Ph.D.
Friday, March 21, 2025 – The Master of Urban Design Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada held an Iftar Gathering with current Urban Design students and alumni from KARTAGAMA. The event took place in Room K1, 2nd Floor, and was opened and accompanied by the Head of Program, Dr. Dyah Titisari Widyastuti, S.T., MUDD, and lecturer Ir. Ikaputra, M.Eng., Ph.D.
Reflecting the event’s theme, “Sharing Stories and Aspirations in Urban Design,” the gathering began with introductions between alumni and students, followed by a storytelling session where alumni shared their joyful experiences in the world of urban design—both during their academic years and in their professional careers, as academics and practitioners.
Dr. Ir. Arif Kusumawanto, M.T., IPU., a lecturer from the Department of Architecture and Planning Engineering at Universitas Gadjah Mada and a member of the Technology Research Group, has published a scientific paper titled “Enhanced Mechanical Properties of the Additively Manufactured Modified Hybrid Stereolithography (SLA)–Glass Powder.” This Scopus-indexed research successfully enhances the mechanical properties of ready-to-use resin products fabricated through additive manufacturing using stereolithography (SLA) reinforced with glass powder.
Tuesday, May 27th 2025 – The Department of Architecture and Planning, Faculty of Engineering Universitas Gadjah Mada held a graduation ceremony for prospective graduates of the Urban and Regional Planning Program (URP). Taking place in Room K1 on the 2nd floor, the event began at 1:00 PM with the national anthem Indonesia Raya, followed by a solemn rendition of the Gadjah Mada Hymn. The ceremony was attended by graduates and their families, faculty members, administrative staff, and representatives from the student association HMTPWK.
Coinciding with the celebration of Kartini Day on Monday, April 21, 2025, the Institute Tourism International held a webinar titled Top Indonesian Women in Tourism Virtual Summit with Top Expert 2025, featuring remarkable women who are experts in the field of tourism. On this occasion, Professor Ir. Wiendu Nuryanti, M.Arch., Ph.D., a professor in the Doctoral Program of Architecture at DTAP FT UGM, participated as one of the speakers and presented a talk entitled Is Tourism A Driver of Gender Equality?
Ir. Adi Utomo Hatmoko, M.Arch., a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and a professional architect, took part in the Talk Series at ARCH:ID 2025, an annual architecture exhibition held on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at ICE BSD, Tangerang. In the session titled “Design for Healing: Hospital & Healthcare Facility Design”, which took place from 14:30 to 15:30 WIB at Alun-alun 2, Pak Adi shared his insights and experiences in designing healthcare facilities that are practical and meet real needs. The event was attended by professionals, architecture students, and the general public from various regions.

Yogyakarta, 15 Mei 2025 – Kuliah tamu terbuka untuk umum yang diadakan oleh Program Studi Sarjana PWK UGM hadir kembali pada Kamis 15 Mei 2025 dengan judul “Youth Migration and Its Implication for Regional Development”. Kuliah ini mengundang Meirina Ayumi Malamassam, Ph.D, seorang peneliti di Pusat Riset Kependudukan, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN).
Kuliah tamu dibuka oleh Sri Tuntung Pandangwati, ST., MUP. selaku dosen pengampu mata kuliah Teori Kependudukan dan dilanjutkan dengan pemaparan materi oleh narasumber.
Sleman, May 8, 2025 — Second-semester students of the Architecture Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), class of 2024, participated in a field trip as part of the Building Systems and Construction (SBK) course. The visit took place at the construction site of a new building for the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) UGM. This activity serves as an integral part of the learning process, aiming to introduce students to the technical and systematic realities of building construction.
