Re-registration Information for Odd Semester Academic Year 2026/2027

News Friday, 26 June 2026

All students of the Applied Bachelor, Bachelor, Professional, and Postgraduate Programs at Universitas Gadjah Mada are hereby informed that re-registration and payment of the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) for the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2026/2027 is now open. Students are expected to review the following information carefully and complete the re-registration process on time.

Before submitting any request for a semester leave, reinstatement, study extension, or tuition fee reduction or deferral, students must first obtain written approval through the SMS FT Letter Administration system. Once approval is granted, the relevant submission can be processed through SIMASTER. read more

UGM Professor Provides Strategic Perspectives on the Development of Sultanate and Duchy Strategic Spatial Units in Yogyakarta

Prof. Ir. Bakti Setiawan, M.A., Ph.D., a faculty member of the Department of Architecture and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), served as a keynote speaker in a dissemination event on Spatial Planning Documents covering the Yogyakarta Special Region Spatial Plan (RTRW) 2023–2043 and the Development Strategy for the Sultanate and Duchy Strategic Spatial Units (Satuan Ruang Strategis/SRS) 2023–2043. The event was organized by the Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Adhikari Meeting Room of the Regional Land and Spatial Planning Agency (DISPERTARU DIY). read more

DTAP FT UGM Lecturer Delivered a Session at the 2026 International Collaborative Studio 5.0

A lecturer from the Department of Architecture and Planning Engineering (DTAP), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Ir. Ar. Adi Utomo Hatmoko, M.Arch., IAI., AA., served as one of the speakers at the International Collaborative Studio (ICS) 5.0 in 2026. This international program was a collaboration between the Architecture Study Program of Universitas Brawijaya, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and The University of Western Australia (UWA).

On this occasion, Adi Utomo Hatmoko delivered a presentation entitled “Designing a Student Hub,” which discussed the importance of designing communal student spaces as an integral part of the campus environment. The presentation highlighted how a student hub functions not only as an academic support facility, but also as a space for collaboration, social interaction, creativity, and student community development. read more

DTAP FT UGM Graduates 13 Students from the Architecture and URP Programs for the May 2026 Period

The Department of Architecture and Planning Engineering (DTAP), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada once again held a Graduation Farewell Ceremony for students of the Undergraduate Architecture Study Program and the Undergraduate Urban and Regional Planning (URP) Study Program for the May 2026 period. The event served as an appreciation of the students’ academic achievements as they completed their studies and prepared to pursue their professional and academic journeys.

In this period, the Undergraduate Architecture Study Program graduated 4 students who had completed their yudisium process on January 30, 2026, and April 20, 2026. All graduates received the distinction of Sangat Memuaskan (Highly Satisfactory) with an average GPA of 3.27. The highest GPA was achieved by Kurnia Faliandra Wijaya with a GPA of 3.40. Meanwhile, the shortest study period was completed by Nuha Mehrunisa in 4 years and 8 months, while the youngest graduate was Shanata Alfika Nugrahani at the age of 22 years and 7 months. read more

Research Methodology 2 Field Study: A Phenomenological Study of Pekuncen Village Area

As part of the learning activities in the Research Methodology 2 course, students from the Master of Architecture Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), conducted a field study in several areas of Pekuncen Village, Jatilawang District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java. This activity became an important stage in the field research-based learning process to deepen students’ understanding of the phenomenological approach in architecture and the built environment.

The field study aimed to collect data and information regarding spatial phenomena, building conditions, and cultural practices developed within Pekuncen Village. The observation focused on the relationship between space, social activities, and cultural values embedded in the community. The collected data will serve as the foundation for students’ research assignments in the Research Methodology 2 course. read more

Tourism Studio 1 Field Study: Bandengan Beach Area, Jepara Regency

As part of the learning process in the Studio 1 Contextual Exploration course, students from the Master of Architecture Program, Tourism Architecture Concentration, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), conducted a field survey at Bandengan Beach Area, Jepara Regency, from 7–10 May 2026. The activity served as an important stage in preparing the Master Plan for the Tourism Attraction Area (ODTW) of Bandengan Beach, with a planning horizon from 2025 to 2035.

Recognized as one of Jepara’s leading coastal tourism destinations, Bandengan Beach plays a strategic role as one of the largest contributors to the tourism sector’s Regional Original Revenue (PAD). This potential makes the area a relevant learning laboratory for tourism architecture students to understand the dynamics of marine tourism development through a contextual, sustainable, and locally based approach. read more

DTAP FT UGM Lecturer Wins AAS International Hospital Design Competition in Makassar

Adi Utomo Hatmoko, a lecturer from the Department of Architecture and Planning (DTAP), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), together with his team, won the AAS International Hospital Design Competition located in Panaikang, Panakkukang District, Makassar, South Sulawesi. The competition winners were officially announced at the end of April 2026.

Through their proposal entitled “AAS International Hospital: Infinity in Harmony – Healing, Smart Living, and Human Well-being,” the team introduced the concept of an integrated healthcare development that combines medical services, residential facilities, hospitality functions, and commercial spaces within a modern and interconnected environment. The design was developed with a strong emphasis on user comfort and well-being as the central focus of the project. read more

UGM Doctoral Program in Architecture Alumna Appointed Professor, Advancing Human-Behavior-Based Architectural Studies

Prof. Dr. Linda W. Fanggidae, S.T., M.T., an alumna of the Architecture Doctoral Program, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), cohort of 2016, has been appointed as a Professor at Universitas Nusa Cendana. This achievement highlights the contribution of UGM Architecture doctoral alumni to the development of architectural knowledge in Indonesia.

In her inaugural professorial address delivered on April 8, 2026, Prof. Linda presented a speech entitled “Architecture and Behavior: Building Spaces for the Human Soul, Interpreting from Pruitt-Igoe to Kios Angalai”. The lecture highlights the relationship between architecture, human behavior, and spatial experience, emphasizing that architecture is not merely about physical form, but also about how space shapes human interaction, meaning, and lived experience. read more

UGM Architecture Doctoral Students’ Research Publications Strengthen Scientific Contributions to Cultural Heritage and Future Housing Issues

A study examining conservation strategies for colonial-era religious and educational complexes in the Archdiocese of Semarang through the Historic Interpretation Strategy (HIS) approach has been published in an international journal. The research was published in Social Sustainability in Economic, Social, and Cultural. The article by Rosalia Rachma Rihadiani, together with Prof. Ir. Sudaryono, M.Eng., Ph.D., IPU. as Promotor and Dr.Eng. Ir. Laretna Trisnantari Adishakti, M.Arch. as Co-Promotor, can be accessed through: https://doi.org/10.18848/2325-1115/CGP/v22i01/63-86. The research, entitled “Historical Collective Memory as a Strategy for Architectural Conservation in the Archdiocese of Semarang: A Case Study of Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Muntilan, Ambarawa, and Semarang,” highlights that architectural conservation is not limited to the physical aspects of buildings, but also involves collective memory, historical values, and spatial meanings that continue to evolve within society. read more
